China vs America: Who will dominate the next generation of warplanes?
Judging by the available signals, the answer to this question seems to be 'yes'.
The US Air Force announced in June 2021 that the 'Sixth Generation' warplanes' 'Next Generation Air Domination' (NGAD) program would be implemented within the next 10 years.
General Charles Quinton Brown Jr., commander of the U.S. Air Force (USAF), told the U.S. House Military Committee that the new, sophisticated fighter jets would be brought in to replace the F-22 Raptor and that they would be capable of performing multiple missions simultaneously.
Speaking on the budget idea for the 2022 fiscal year, the Air Chief said that the main purpose of this warplane would be to maintain US dominance in the airspace. But at the same time, he said, these fighter jets are capable of targeting ground targets.
The "Sixth Generation Warplane" is capable of striking ground targets from the sky. With its security at the forefront, it will also provide options for our Air Force commanders and allied forces, "he said.
"The NGAT fighter jet has also expanded the range of operation of the F-22. Said.
NGADs are always referred to as the "Family System". These can be used to destroy enemy unmanned aerial attack capabilities, perform tasks such as electronic attack, and as a machine with additional weapons. But U.S. military officials say its basic structure is the aircraft.
